    Abstract/Overview
    Mosquitoes transmit deadly diseases in tropical countries. Despite tremendous efforts towards disease control, the burden is still huge in endemic areas. In 2015, the region was home to 89% of malaria cases and 91% of malaria deaths. Chemotherapy and vector control are among the most effective strategies used to minimize the disease burden, but they are highly challenged by the phenomenon of drug and insecticide resistance.
