dc.description.abstract2020 heralded the mother-of-all crises – the covid-19 pandemic – that impacted all countries in Africa, leading to loss of life, jobs, livelihoods and the crashing of economies, increasing poverty/destitution. This health crisis exposed Africa’s disaster unpreparedness and exacerbated the continuing challenge of natural disasters in the continent, as discussed below.en_US
